Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using Lingora.

By accessing or using Lingora, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. About Lingora

Lingora ("we", "us", "our") is a language learning progressive web application (PWA) operated by Lingora (contact: vasylkolodi@gmail.com). We provide vocabulary flashcards, quizzes, grammar references, and pronunciation exercises for Slavic and other European languages.

Lingora is registered and operated within the European Union (Czech Republic) and complies with applicable EU and Czech law, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use Lingora. By using the service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are under 16, you may only use Lingora with verifiable parental or guardian consent.

Full account creation features will be introduced at launch. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any credentials associated with your account.

4. Free and Premium Services

4.1 Free Tier

Lingora offers a free tier that provides access to a limited set of lessons, flashcards, and features. Free tier usage may include contextual advertising served via Google AdSense. By using the free tier, you acknowledge that advertisements may be displayed.

4.2 Premium Subscription

Lingora Premium ("Premium") is a paid subscription currently priced at €4.99 per month (or equivalent in your local currency). Premium subscribers receive:

Subscriptions are processed securely via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

We reserve the right to modify Premium pricing with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new price.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, trademarks, and branding on Lingora — including but not limited to the "Lingora" name and logo, lesson content, flashcard data, and application interface — are the exclusive property of Lingora or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Lingora for your personal, non-commercial language learning purposes. No other rights are granted.

User-generated content (if any) submitted through the service (e.g. error reports, feedback) may be used by Lingora to improve the service without compensation to you.

7. Advertising

Free tier users may see advertisements delivered by Google AdSense and similar third-party advertising partners. These partners may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve personalised ads based on your browsing behaviour. Premium subscribers will not be shown advertisements.

8. Third-Party Services

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party providers.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Lingora is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Language content (vocabulary, grammar, translations) is provided for educational purposes and may contain inaccuracies.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Lingora's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or €10, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under EU or Czech law.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Lingora at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if required by law. Upon termination, your licence to use the service ceases immediately. Sections 6, 9, 11, and 12 survive termination.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The EU Online Dispute Resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr for consumers in the EU.

Any disputes not resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Czech Republic, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or via an in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Lingora after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the service before the effective date.
